Aberdeen, which has the ideal mix of town and country has a history going back over 900 years. Some say longer but there are still structures standing dating to the 11th century.

As with all modern cities there is much to do and plenty to see whether its culture, sport, literature and learning through our ancient university or simply sight-seeing.

The slogan, attributed to yesteryear, was visit Aberdeen 'The Silver City with the Golden Sands' still stands good today and to see our city sparkle, because of its granite construction, is indeed a most beautiful sight.

We are very proud indeed of our sporting heroes both past and present and for a Region of limited population we are admired throughout the sporting world.

News
Donald Trump's plans to spend £300 Million in order to transform an 800-acre stretch of sand dunes near Balmedie into a world-class resort will do "nothing but good" for the area, creating business and encouraging visiting golfers to stay and play local courses, the resort could be open for business as early as 2008/9.

This area encapsulates everything good about Scotland. We've got beaches, castle country, whisky and the mountains and this is just an ideal opportunity to cement that.
